Counsellor placements available!

Update: 10th October 2017. We’ve now received sufficient applications from people interested in volunteering and are not currently looking for additional volunteers.

Are you a qualified or trained counsellor looking to volunteer in Luton?

We have a rare opportunity to join the team as a volunteer counsellor, supporting women who are vulnerable or have needs which services find complex.  Many of our clients are affected by trauma and abuse and whilst we always will support women to engage with local specialist services, our own counselling services often provide a more flexible, timely service which can act as a stepping stone into other provision.

As well as giving you a valuable opportunity to work in a challenging and very rewarding area the placements also provide:

– Payment for external clinical supervision

– Insurance cover (if not already in place)

– Travel expenses

– A managerial point of contact and opportunities to join the team on broader training if desired

To take up a placement, you need to be a qualified Counsellor, Therapist or Clinical Psychologist or be studying for your L3 diploma in counselling or degree/Masters in Counselling, Clinical psychology or psychotherapy. (Really sorry but we are not currently applications from Art Therapists as we already have sufficient provision in this area)

We ask that you volunteer for a minimum of three hours per week, for at least six months. Days and times can be mutually agreed but will be Monday – Friday between 9am to 5pm based in our office in Luton town centre.

If you’d like to be considered please complete the volunteer application form hereand send it in to us. We’ll then arrange to meet to discuss how we might work together and give you an opportunity to see if we’re right for you too! If you need more information in advance of an application please feel free to contact the Women’s Services Manager on 01582 457114.
